Civil rights are basic rights that every citizen has under the laws of the government. In the United States the civil rights of each individual citizen are protected by the Constitution. Civil rights for every person means that regardless of gender, skin color, religion, nationality, age, disability, or religion, a person should not be discriminated against. Civil rights include the right to free speech, privacy, religion, assembly, a fair trial, and freedom of thought.
Now that you have finished watching the film about Jackie Robinson it is time to learn a bit about the American history and The Civil Rights Movement. 1. Read through the timeline below. Look up difficult words in the wordlist! Timeline of the American history- reading material! Wordlist 2. Search the Internet for additional information (documentaries for example) about the movement! 3. Make your own timeline with the ten most imortant events in the American history that had a great impact in the fight for civil rights, according to you. Use information from the timeline above or other facts that you have found! 4.Create your timeline in Popplet or any program of your choice. English grammar work
We will teach year 5 and 6 at Uppsala Waldorfskolan basic English grammar In your workgroup you choose yourselves how you would like to present your work 1. Use the whiteboard and film your presentation when you go through the grammar rules and give examples. Film with a camera, an Ipad, your computer or your phone. 2. To practise your part, do the exercises in your workbook. Decide how you are going to present your work. Write a manuscript what to say while you film/record your work. When you are done with this part show it to another group or to Camilla for feedback. To speak Swedish in your presentation is ok. Give examples to the younger students to practice and give them also the key (the correct answers). Record your film.
